Each strategy is managed under a consistent, valuation-led, contrarian philosophy, emphasising high active share, disciplined risk management and a long term horizon.

Multi asset funds: Domestic and Global Balanced Funds

Domestic Balanced Fund:  Achieves inflation-beating returns over full cycles via active asset allocation and bottom up stock selection.

Global Balanced Fund:  Provides globally diversified growth through equities, bonds, and alternatives in a valuation anchored framework.

Equity funds: Managed and Core Equity

Fund range - institutional

A focused range of institutional mandates

We offer a narrow range of funds across the risk spectrum, including specialist equity, bond and absolute return funds, as well as global and domestic balanced mandates.

Bond Fund

The Bond Fund seeks to outperform the benchmark over time and offers exposure to the South African bond market by investing in a range of government, parastatal and corporate bonds. The fund is actively managed and performance is achieved by identifying investment opportunities across the interest rate spectrum.

Core Equity Fund

The Core Equity Fund aims to maximise performance within a reasonably tight tracking error constraint. It aims to be fully invested in South African equities on a consistent basis and is conservatively positioned in our best ideas, based on our team’s bottom-up stock-picking process. The fund invests in South African equities within a reasonably tight tracking error and is more conservatively managed than the Managed Equity Fund. Significant emphasis is placed on risk management relative to the FTSE/JSE Capped SWIX Index. The fund is available in segregated or pooled form and segregated mandates may be available with alternative benchmarks.

Domestic Balanced Fund

This fund aims to significantly outperform the median manager in the domestic retirement fund manager peer group. It has a balanced mandate and investments are diversified across equities, bonds and cash. The fund is actively managed and is positioned in our best ideas, based on our team’s proven research process. It is Regulation 28 compliant and is available in segregated and pooled form. The fund is benchmarked against the median return of the Alexander Forbes SA Manager Watch: Best Investment View survey.

Global Balanced Fund

This fund aims to significantly outperform the median manager in the retirement fund manager peer group over the long term. It has a global balanced mandate and investments are diversified across domestic equities, property, bonds, cash and foreign assets. The fund is actively managed and is positioned in our best ideas, based on our team’s proven research process. It is Regulation 28 compliant and is available in segregated and pooled form. The fund is benchmarked against the median return of the Alexander Forbes Global Large Manager Watch survey.

Managed Equity Fund

The Managed Equity fund aims to significantly outperform its benchmark over time and be fully invested in South African equities on a consistent basis. It is actively positioned in our best ideas, based on our team’s bottom-up stock-picking process. This fund invests in South African equities and does not have explicit risk constraints. It is benchmarked against the FTSE/JSE Capped SWIX Index and is available in segregated or pooled form. Segregated mandates may be available with alternative benchmarks.
